Seriously, why does he get creepier and creepier the more I develop him?

So it's been ages since I've done a piece with Bane, even though it seems like everyone likes him (must be because he's a villian or something), but all that time hasn't been entirely wasted. I spent some of it working on his design and backstory and such. So now we've got this and drat, he's just gotten spookier to me :/
I gave him clothes because walking around naked isn't an option anymore but I also thought that he probably doesn't take good care of himself, so his quills are messy, fractured, and his clothes are torn up. And even though he's pretty unbalanced and unnaturally flexible, I figured he'd still have an certain elegance about him since he's is (and has been since the start of his design), a master swordsman. 
Bottom line: he's still creepy And even I can't believe at times that he's Terra's uncle.
